‘Windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware” when using YUMI

I encountered this issue while installing a netbook for a family member, I used the excellent YUMI multiboot USB creator, get it here: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/. Each time i installed Windows 7 via YUMI on a samsung N140 netbook, after the first reboot i received a error:Β ‘windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computers hardware”. All i could think of that differed between this and other machines i’ve installed Windows 7 on was that this one had a series of other partitions, including a (broken) recovery partition. To reduce the number of partitions it had to look at on restart i removed the usb stick upon the first reboot during the reinstall and the install completed successfully. Not entirely sure why but hopefully this helps someone else.
